On August 4, 1971, the Long Branch Church of God originated with 4 members. With the theme “Remember Now Thy Creator in the Days of Thy Youth,” the first service was conducted in the front room of the Long Branch Y.M.C.A. As time went on, more weekly services were added. Bishop Worsley carried as many as 15 adults and kids together in his 1974 Pontiac.
Ten months after starting in the Y.M.C.A., the Lord blessed the congregation with the purchase of a building on 14th Forth Avenue. The sanctuary had a maximum capacity 100 people. The membership expanded and more space was needed by 1985.
God moved by his Spirit and provided the Long Branch Church of God, Inc. with a new place of worship. The church purchased the property at 200-206 Garfield Avenue in Long Branch. This is our current place of worship.
It is through PRAYER, FAITH, and DEDICATION that we’re still standing. “…With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
